Today's Menu

Cheese Baton with Apple Wedges
Daube of Beef with Tagliatelle & Green Beans
Chocolate Sponge & Vanilla Custard

The Daube of Beef is a French Stew traditionally the Beef is braised in red wine. I only put a little red wine in mine and cook the alcohol out and then add beef stock and simmer on the stove for 4 hours. There is plenty of baby onions & fresh herbs to add flavour as well as Bay leafs.

  1. love these school lunch blogs! my daughter is 4 and will be starting school after the summer, I was in 2 minds to give her a pack lunch but I think I will now give her the school dinners. It might encourage her to eat more vegetables :D

    1. I would always want to promote Kids hot meals at lunch times but i would suggest that when she starts school you find out if new parents can have a tasting sesion with the caterers. this way you can determine weather you want your child to have their meal or a packed Lunch. I have 3 Girls, 1 In secondary school who has Lunch from the cafeteria which is run by a Chef and provides good healthy balanced Menu's. My Middle middle daughter goes to primary school, she has packed lunch as i did not find the meals be provided at school were of a good standard especially when i started asking questions of where things come from etc.

    2. Thanks for the advice - your meals look fulfilling and delicious! I will find out if there is a tasting session at her new school. If I manage I will take a pic and send it to your blog :D

  2. That looks like a large helping. What ages are the children in your school and do they all get that size portions?

    1. We are a Primary school Ranging from 3 year old to 10 years. This is a Portion for the second sitting which is for the older kids 8-10 yrs.
We give smaller portions for the Nursery children and get bigger as the kids do.
